As part of the legacy of the Nanaimo 2014 BC Summer Games, the Nanaimo BC Summer Games Award was established in 2015 to award two students who participated in the Games from the Nanaimo area.

As a result of a successful Nanaimo 2014 BC Summer Games, $65,000 of legacy funds were leveraged and allocated to three community projects including scholarships, a new field score clock, and a community stage.

It has been one year since 16 athletes were recognized with a Coast Capital Savings Athlete Bursary,  Here is an update on how the bursary funding has helped these young athletes pursue their sport.

Muliple Games volunteer, Arlene Blundell was recognized by the City of Nanaimo for her contribution to culture.

The recently concluded Nanaimo 2014 BC Summer Games had a direct economic impact of almost $2 million to the Harbour City and surrounding region. 

The legacy from the 2002 Nanaimo BC Summer Games is legendary with more than $200,000 injected back into the community.
