Excitement filled the gym hallway of Dover Bay Secondary School in Nanaimo, BC as the girls volleyball medal winners joined in the singing of Oh Canada. They were waiting to take the stage after wrapping up the boy’s volleyball medal ceremony.

The Fraser River-Delta (Zone 4) girls softball team won silver medal at BC Summer Games on Sunday.

In a very close game, the Fraser Valley (Zone 3) girls team inched out a 2-1 victory over the Fraser River-Delta team.

Fraser Valley's (Zone 3) Elyse Hodel, who hails from Surrey, took home the gold medal on Sunday’s equestrian jumping competition of the BC Summer Games in Nanaimo.

 

Although Hodel had “horse show nerves” this morning before competing, she managed to have a clear first round and an impressive jump-off with a time of 41.49 seconds.

Jessica Telizyn, representing Cariboo-North East (Zone 8) at the BC Summer Games in Nanaimo, decided last year that she would become a triathlete. An accomplished Irish dancer who enjoyed many successes in competitions throughout North America, Telizyn thought it would be neat to add triathlete to her growing resume.
