Thousands of spectators gathered in Nanaimo on Thursday night to help celebrate and welcome athletes, coaches, and officials from around the province to the 2014 BC Summer Games.

The course is set up and the water is calm at the Cedar Bridge this afternoon. Starting Friday morning, BC Summer Games athletes will be kayaking and canoeing through this slalom course. 

British Columbia’s best young athletes, coaches and officials are gathering in the City of Nanaimo for the 2014 BC Summer Games.

July 14-20 is officially "BC Summer Games Week" as proclaimed by the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.

The BC Games Society and internationally recognized WorldHost® Training Services teamed up to offer 10 Gamestime specialized training sessions for over 500 BC Summer Games volunteers.
