Coast Capital Savings Partnership Inspires

 
 

Coast Capital Savings has been a Corporate Partner with the BC Games Society since 2013, as part of the credit union’s commitment to invest 10 per cent of its bottom line in projects and initiatives in its communities, with a focus on youth. From presenting each Games’ participant with a t-shirt and drawstring bag courtesy of Coast Capital to involving Coast Capital Savings employees in the Games, over the past five Games Coast Capital Savings has impacted over 13,000 BC Games athletes, coaches, and officials.

BC Games Society Board Member Inducted into Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame

 
 

On October 23rd, BC Games Society board member Simon Whitfield was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame at the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto. As a triathlete, Simon has competed in four Olympics, winning gold both at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, and silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He holds 12 national championships and 14 world cup victories.

Partnership Creates More Opportunities for Indigenous Athletes

 
 

A partnership was announced in August between the BC Games Society, Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC), Cross Country BC and BC Archery to expand the Indigenous Participation Program in the BC Games. This partnership provides a greater opportunity for Indigenous athletes, coaches and officials to compete and gain experience at the BC Games, with the potential to advance to compete at the North American Indigenous Games and Canada Games.
