BC Games Society Board Member Inducted into Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame

On October 23rd, BC Games Society board member Simon Whitfield was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame at the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto. As a triathlete, Simon has competed in four Olympics, winning gold both at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, and silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He holds 12 national championships and 14 world cup victories.

Simon has served on the BC Games Society board since January 2014. He co-founded an investment and consulting business called Relentless Pursuit Partners and currently enjoys his time as a paddle-board guide with Ocean Rivers Sports in Oak Bay and playing soccer with the Vancouver Island Soccer League.

We congratulate Simon on his sixth hall of fame induction, a fitting achievement for his tremendous contribution to sport in BC and Canada. He has been inducted into the B.C. Sports, Victoria Sports, Canada’s Sports, Triathlon Canada and International Triathlon Union Halls of Fame.

A commemorative mural will be painted in his honour at the Triathlon Canada National Performance Centre headquarters at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria.
