On May 3, 2021, the Board of the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame announced its Class of 2021. Among the four inductees is former BC Games Society CEO and honourary Board Member, Roger Skillings.

Sport BC’s annual President's Awards were presented at the 54th Athlete of the Year ceremony on March 25, 2021. The Awards are presented to volunteers from Sport BC member and partner organizations who represent the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy, and commitment contribute to development of their sport or organization in the province of British Columbia. Of the 37 recipients, 10 BC Games alumni were celebrated at the virtual event, including the BC Games Society’s nomination, Jeremy Grant. 

Sport BC celebrated the 54^th Annual Athlete of the Year Awards virtually on Thursday, March 25, 2021.The Athlete of the Year Awards recognize the province’s best in amateur sport including athletes, coaches, teams, and officials for outstanding performances in their sport over the 2019 season. Each finalist was nominated by their Provincial or Multi-Sport Organization, High School, College, or University.

In December, Nordiq Canada announced its FIS Junior World and U23 Championships athletes for 2021, which took place in Lahti and Vuokatti, Finland, from February 6-13. The BC Games is proud to share that out of the 20 Canadian athletes who qualified, 9 are from BC and all competed at the BC Winter Games. Nordic Canada chose 20 athletes, 10 for World Junior’s and 10 for U23’s, with five women and five men per category. 

Among the inductees were BC Games alumnus Rawnie Weststrate, Team BC alumnus Aaron Lattimer, and BC Games and Team BC alumnus Sue Demuynck. 

BC Games alumnus Evan Dunfee wins bronze in the 50km race walk at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships, qualifying him for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
