The BC Games Society is rallying behind the City of Maple Ridge following cancellation of this year’s summer games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Province, through the society, is providing $125,000 to support local sport and community development projects and ensure people will still benefit from the city being chosen to host the BC Summer Games.

Statement From the BC Games Society Regarding the Cancellation of the 2020 BC Summer Games

Lisa Beare, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has released the following statement about immediate responses to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) for B.C.’s amateur sport sector.

To reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health of British Columbians, the 2020 BC Summer Games that were scheduled for July 23-26 in Maple Ridge have been cancelled.

On Saturday January 25, 2020 you are invited to pop by any Save On Foods location in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows to explore ways that you can be involved in a volunteer capacity.
 

The Maple Ridge 2020 BC Summer Games Society (“Society”) is seeking proposals from
experienced service contractors to submit a fee proposal to provide stage, audio,
lighting and video Services described in RFP Schedule 1 – Statement of Requirement.
