Vancouver-Coastal and Fraser River needed extra time to determine which team would walk away with a gold medal at the netball final.

West Kelowna and Vancouver competitors carved out figure skating’s top spots at the 2016 BC Winter Games.

The host Thompson-Okanagan Zone 2 skied to gold on Sunday at the Nickel Plate Cross Country Centre in the 4x2 kilometre mixed relay event.

In the karate competitions of the Penticton 2016 BC Winter Games, 13-year-old Mitchell Dann from Zone 4 Fraser River took home gold medals in heavy weight kumite advanced and team kumite and achieved personal bests during the Games.

Scoring came from six Thompson-Okanagan Zone 2 players as they captured gold in a 6-1 win over the Fraser River Zone 4.

Vancouver Coastal and Fraser River teams were matched up into two battles royal for the badminton doubles.
