Results from opening day on Friday

In field lacrosse action on Friday, Fraser Valley won over Vancouver Coastal with a score of 13-5.

Shawnigan Lake's Tyler Lindsay grabbed his second gold of the 2016 BC Summer Games by taking top prize in the U-18 boys wakeskate event at Albert Dick Lake in Abbotsford. Lindsay's score of 64 was enough to top the event, which sees athletes riding a board that is not connected to their feet. Earlier in the day, he had won gold in the wakeboarding event.

Vancouver’s Anna Maslechko proved it’s not how you start but how you finish, winning the women’s 1200 metre in convincing fashion.
