The BC Games Society would like to extend our congratulations to former BC Games Society Board of Directors member Rochelle Winterton on her retirement as Executive Director of the British Columbia Lacrosse Association (BCLA). For the past 20 years Rochelle has been with BCLA, 14 of those as the Executive Director and serving on many boards and committees during that time.

During the 32 years of Rochelle’s professional career, she worked in the non-profit sector in arts, health, and sport. Beginning in 2007, Rochelle graduated with a Masters in Leadership and Training, dedicating her research project to community lacrosse volunteer leadership support, training, and education. A leader in the sport sector ever since, Rochelle managed to balance her career in professional sport, promotions, and media/public relations.

Rochelle served on the BC Games Society Board of Directors from 2014 to 2018. During that time she served on the Sport Committee, Marketing and Communications Committee, and Finance Committee. Rochelle was a well-respected PSO Executive Director and brought extensive sport experience and sector knowledge to the Board, in particular in her role on the Sport Committee. While she is humble by nature and often avoids taking centre-stage, her strong leadership and thoughtful examination of issues led to great insights and a stronger BC Games overall. 

We would like to thank Rochelle Winterton again for her years of service on the Board and her many years as Executive Director of the British Columbia Lacrosse Association. We hope you enjoy your well-deserved retirement and wish you all the best for a safe and healthy future.
