Golf Coach Marks Her Fourth BC Summer Games

By Rachelle Rondeau
Jennifer Greggain of Chilliwack has coached golf for over 10 years and this is her fourth BC Summer Games. She previously attended in Abbotsford, Nanaimo, Surrey and now Cowichan. As a coach who has attended several BC Summer Games' events, she knows that competing at this level means a lot of hard work, dedication and really loving your sport.
Luke Bogdan of Abbotsford has coached golf for five years, and this is his first time attending the BC Summer Games. Attending the Games is very rewarding, and there is much to be learned from their experience here. Succeeding at golf is based on both strategy and skill.
Navigating the course, assessing the distance from the tee to the hole, using the right clubs, when to play it safe are all factors that come into play.
They have six kids on the Zone 3 (Fraser Valley) team. They feel that the athletes can really learn a lot from the golf course at Cowichan Golf and Country Club: the first nine holes are relatively flat and straightforward but the back nine definitely pose some challenges.
