Maple Ridge Leaders Rise to the Occasion
|
|
|
A distinguished group of community leaders have stepped up to the plate and will bring their talents, commitment, and community pride to the Games. After attending an orientation meeting in late May, they are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
The Board of Directors includes President Mike Keenan and Vice President Tom Bowen and 14 Directors each selected for their passion, experience, and expertise.
The Games will take place July 23-26, 2020 and will require up to 3,000 volunteers.

2018 BC Winter Games President Recognized
|
|
|
Niki Remesz, President of the 2018 BC Winter Games was named Sport Person of the Year by the Kamloops Sports Council.
Niki created an atmosphere of trust and transparency and led her board to stage an outstanding BC Winter Games for over 1770 participants and more than 1900 volunteers.
Congratulations, Niki for this well-deserved recognition!

BC Games Society Employment Opportunity
|
|
|
The BC Games Society is seeking an experienced individual for the Marketing and Engagement Manager position.
A key component of the position is to maximize exposure opportunities locally, provincially, and nationally. In addition, this staff will work directly with volunteers to manage components of the BC Winter and BC Summer Games and Team BC.
Applicants must submit a resume and cover letter no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, June 7, 2019.

Diving Takes Advantage of Games in Northern BC
|
|
|
While in Fort St. John participating in a Games planning session, BC Diving also delivered a coaching workshop to local coaches and their athletes. "Whenever we get the chance to mentor up and coming coaches, especially in the north, we take advantage of the opportunity,” said BC Diving's Sharon Sullivan.
Making full use of the opportunities presented by inclusion in the BC Games is a great way to extend the reach of the Games and for Provincial Sport Organizations to enhance the development of their sport.

With Sadness
|
|
|
It is with great sadness that we say good-bye Jack Doan. Jack served as the Director of Sport for the Nanaimo 2002 BC Summer Games and has been a good friend and strong advocate of the Games ever since. Our thoughts are with Jack's family.

Jeff Lott, was presented with the BC Achievement Community Award earlier this month. A monumental achievement and well-deserved recognition for former RCMP member and President of the Nanaimo 2014 BC Summer Games. Congratulations, Jeff!
