"While the experience of hosting, community spirit, and the skills learned by volunteers were all immediate positive impacts, wenow get to hand out the Legacy Funds that will continue to support events and young athletes for years to come,” said Bill Bidlake, President of the Penticton 2016 BC Winter Games.

#ERASEbullying

Erase Bullying

The BC Games Society has declared our commitment to erase bullying in sport and have joined with our provincial sport organizations partners in this province-wide movement to make sport a more inclusive and safe environment.

A sport environment in which participants, athletes, coaches, volunteers, spectators, and officials are exposed to negative experiences, such as bullying, can be harmful and cause individuals to quit.  viaSport and the Government of B.C. want to ensure participants at every level of sport are aware that bullying in any form cannot be tolerated.

Alumni stand up to Bullying

Erase Bullying Video

BC Games and Team BC alumni, Brent Hayden and Evan Dunfee have lent their voices to the campaign to #ERASEBullying.  Both have experienced bullying and shared their personal thoughts through honest and open blog posts.  We are proud of these two leaders and encourage others to join the movement and take a personal pledge to stand up to bullying.
