The Northern Environmental Action Committee (NEAT) is working hard to keep the environmental impacts of the BC Winter Games as low as possible. Since Wednesday, approximately 5,000 meals have been served to athletes, coaches and officials and it has created only one bag of garbage. 

As special guests arrived at the provincial reception last night, we caught up with past BC Winter Games medal winner, Bryan Harman. Harman won bronze in the 1m and silver in the 3m springboard diving events at the 1984 Winter Games, hosted right here in Fort St. John.

More than 1,000 of the province’s best young athletes have arrived in Fort St. John for the opening of the 2020 BC Winter Games, and the chance to compete in 15 sports.
 

On February 19, Olympian Alysia Rissling presented to a group of BC Games Athlete at the Pomeroy Sport Centre in Fort St. John. She started her presentation off by explaining her favourite phrase of ‘challenge accepted’ and how it led her to bob sledding.

For most of the athletes and coaches arriving for the 2020 Fort St. John BC Winter Games, the most convenient way into the northern BC city is by chartered air flights.
