The Opening Ceremony is a memorable experience and kicks off what will be a fantastic four days. The ceremony will feature the Spirit Lives Here Prince George theme involving the parade of participants, guest speakers, entertainment, and the lighting of the BC Games Torch. Participants are encouraged to dress in zone colours or full uniform and bring lots of energy to this unique aspect of a multi-sport Games.
The ceremony is indoors in a seated venue with air conditioning.
Participants who have family interested in attending will be able to reserve spots for their family through the BC GAMES PARTICIPANT WEBSITE (information will be sent to participants in late June of how to access this site). This is intended to ensure families travelling from out of town can watch their young athlete in the Opening Ceremony. Family reserved seats are free, but limited to two (2) per family.
Volunteers, spectators, other family members, friends, and members of the general public are welcome to attend this free event. All seating outside of those reserved through the Participant Website is general admission and no ticket is required. Organizers are anticipating sufficient seating in this large arena, but please arrive early to ensure a seat.
