Vancouver Coastal held on to a very close and exciting lead to defeat Fraser River 2 to 0.

Abbie Bosten drove in Vancouver Coastals 1st run in the second inning and Meghan Hendrickson drove in the only other run of the game in the 3rd. The last 4 innings were scoreless but certainly not short of great defensive plays by both sides.

What started out as an evenly matched game after the first four innings turned into an 11-1 mercy win for Vancouver Coastal over Fraser River on Saturday afternoon at DeLair Park in Abbotsford.

The bats came out early in the opening game of boy’s baseball action at the BC Summer Games, but then the defense took hold, with Fraser Valley taking a narrow 4-3 extra innings victory over Vancouver Island-Central Coast A.

The countdown is on to the 2016 BC Summer Games in Abbotsford.  Participants and volunteers are in their final preparations getting ready for the competition in Abbotsford.

In the final gold medal game for baseball, Fraser Valley (Zone 3) came out firing and got an early 8 - 0 lead over Vancouver-Squamish (Zone 5).
