As we head into Day 3 of the 2020 BC Winter Games, and final rounds of the ringette bracket, The energy is heating up at the Pomeroy Sports Centre in Fort St. John.  Zone 4 - Fraser River played for the bronze medal. Their parents talk about the athletes' commitment to the sport, waking up and playing from 7 AM to 7 PM most days.  However, today the girls were ready for the medal when they woke up at 4:45 AM to prepare for their match.

This weekend, Wheelchair Basketball is about more than just wins and losses, it's about encouragement, knowledge sharing, and showcasing the sport to the city of Fort St. John.

There have been a lot of smiles on and off the ice as some Special Olympics Figure Skaters experienced their biggest competition to date. Athletes have said it has been a great experience and the coaches are awesome and help them work through unique struggles, providing a supportive environment.

Jennie Copland, Badminton Sport Chair, was in for an unpleasant surprise Friday morning. The badminton competitions were starting that morning and eight teams from eight zones were awaiting their BC Winter Games shirts.

The competitors are called to the mat, but only one person walks on. They face the empty space across from them, bow, step forward bow again. The ref raises their hand, awarding the match, and the person again bows, and leaves.

On Friday, February 21, Kaden Baum, the only Para Nordic skier at the 2020 Fort St John BC Winter Games, raced a 2.5km loop at Beatton Provincial Park in his sit-ski.
