Games Leadership Bursary

Sport supports healthly choices, builds self-reliance and confidence, and inspires youth to become leaders. The BC Winter and BC Summer Games provide athletes from across the province with an important competitive opportunity and exceptional experience to learn about teamwork, goal setting, friendship, and community excellence.

Athletes as well as youth coaches and officials taking part in the BC Winter and BC Summer Games are invited to apply for the BC Games Leadership Bursary. This bursary aims to recognize athletes, coaches, and officials under 19 years of age who have achieved in academics and sport, but more importantly go above and beyond in their communities through leadership and volunteer activities. The successful applicants are provided with the bursary to support their future sport or educational endeavours.

At the Prince George 2022 BC Summer Games, sixteen participants were awarded with a $500 BC Games Leadership Bursary, presented by Canadian Tire. For a full list of recipients, click here.

Details are being finalized for the launch of the 2022 BC Winter Games (in 2023) Leadership Bursary. Interested applicants are asked to check back in early February 2023.
