1768 participants ready for 2018 BC Winter Games
|

The Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games kick off in just over two weeks and 1768 of BC’s best emerging high performance talents have registered and are ready to be part of this celebration of sport and community which runs February 22-25.
The 1229 athletes are from every corner of the province and have trained to earn a place to represent their zone at the Games. Competing in 19 different sports, the athletes are an average of 14 years old and for most, this will be their first experience at a multi-sport Games.

2018 Proclaimed Year of BC Games

To recognize the BC Games Society for enriching the lives of people and communities through sport, Lisa Beare, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has proclaimed 2018 The Year of BC Games.
“The Games have brought people together in communities throughout B.C. and have positively influenced the lives of young athletes for 40 years,” said Beare. “The Games’ athletes, coaches and volunteers are role models, not only for excellence, but for the value of contributing to communities and our province.”

Alumni at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games

Canada is sending its largest-ever winter delegation to the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games, with 225 athletes set to compete bearing our country's maple leaf. Among these ranks are 16 athletes who have competed at the BC Games and 15 who have competed at the Canada Games as part of Team BC. 12 have competed at both.
We look forward to cheering on our alumni and all of Team Canada at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, which run February 9th - 25th.
