The BC Games Society is pleased to announce that Debbie Coulter of North Vancouver, BC is this year’s recipient of a Sport BC Presidents’ Award for outstanding volunteer commitment and dedication to sport. Coulter was recognized on behalf of her work with the BC Games Society at the annual Sport BC Athlete of the Year Awards held this evening.
Debbie is currently the Vice President High Performance for Ringette BC and has been Ringette’s BC Games Provincial Advisor for the past four years. Prior to her current role with Ringette BC, Debbie was the secretary for the Lower Mainland Ringette League and served as the President of the North Vancouver Ringette Association. Debbie has attended three BC Winter Games with her most recent being the Terrace 2010 BC Winter Games earlier this month. In addition to her administrative positions, Debbie is a certified level II coach and coached at the Port Alberni 2004 BC Winter Games. Debbie has played an integral part in the recent growth of ringette in BC and plans on being involved in the sport for many years to come.

Her dedication beyond that to better her sport for her child and other Ringette players speaks to the selflessness of her actions, and her amazing dedication to sport. The BC Games Society relies heavily on volunteers to deliver on a number of our Games’ functions. We applaud Debbie for her great attitude and support of the BC Games.”
The Sport BC Presidents' Awards promote and celebrate the spirit of volunteerism by giving provincial sport organizations an opportunity to acknowledge and thank an individual who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to their sport. This provincial recognition is one of the highest honours held for volunteers in all areas of sport.
