The Board and staff of the BC Games Society were pleased to select Bev Viger of Abbotsford as our recipient of the Presidents' Award for 2017 for her energy and leadership as the Director of Sport for the Abbotsford 2016 BC Summer Games.

Bev's commitment and understanding of the BC Winter Games through her primary sport of Figure Skating certainly played an integral role in her leadership to ensure the ‘athlete first’ approach you gave when planning the sport competitions this past July.  Bev succeeded greatly in her underlying objective to create the best possible environment for competition.  The recruitment and leadership of a Sport Directorate Team that was dedicated to this objective, helped to make the Games an overall success, as well as an outstanding opportunity for the athletes, coaches, officials, and Provincial Sport Organizations.

Bev was presented with her award by Kelly Mann, President and CEO of the BC Games Society and Peter Fassbender, Minister of Community Sport and Cultural Development as part of the annual Athlete of the Year Awards founded by Sport BC.
