News Release from Canadian Sport Institute Pacific

Victoria, BC – After a record breaking week of competition at the TORONTO 2015 Parapan Am Games, British Columbia-linked athletes and guides captured 30 medals for Canada. Canadian Sport Institute Pacific, The Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, ViaSport, the PacificSport provincial network and the BC Games Society would like to congratulate the athletes, guides, coaches, officials and support staff from British Columbia, as well as the entire Canadian team, for an outstanding performance at the TORONTO 2015 Parapan Am Games.


British Columbia-linked athletes and guides came home from the Games with 18 per cent of the Canadian team’s medal haul for a total of 5 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze. 46 athletes who live or train in BC competed at the Games, accounting for 21 per cent of the Canadian Pan Am Games Team.

  •  Of the 46 BC-linked athletes at the Games, 44 athletes call BC home and two moved to the province to train and receive support from BC’s sport sector.
