21 BC Games and Team BC alumni are wearing the Canadian maple leaf and representing their country at the 2015 Universiade in Gwangju, Korea from July 3-14. 12 BC Games alumni are part of the team including 2010 BC Games alumna and W.R. Bennett Award winner Georgia Ellenwood (Langley) who is currently attending the University of Wisconsin and competing for the highly ranked UV Badgers.
The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
It takes place every two years and is second only to the Olympic Games in the number of participating athletes and countries.
