Starting November 14, 2013 ViaSport is running all six NCCP Competition Development courses at the new Fortius Centre in Burnaby. The Competition – Development context consists of six modules, focused on training coaches who are working with athletes who are in the training to train or training to compete stages of long-term athlete development. These sessions are interactive and bring together coaches from different sports, which provide an increased value to the learning environment. All participants completing this training will receive credit in the NCCP.

These are important courses for BC Games level coaches to satisfy the coaching certification standards for the Games.

Coaches wishing to complete all of the training in the Competition Development context will need to complete six multi-sport modules and a number of sport specific modules.
The six multi-sport modules are:
•Coaching and Leading Effectively
•Developing Athletic Abilities (including pre-workshop e-learning session)
•Leading Drug-free Sport
•Managing Conflict
•Prevention and Recovery
•Psychology of Performance

For those outside of the Lower Mainland there is a list of courses running in communities around the province as well as homestudy options.

Please consult the Coaches BC website for full details.
