Black Press is a valued Corporate Partner of the BC Games Society.  Through their network of community based newspapers, the stories of BC Games athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers are shared to audiences around the province.

For the 2012 BC Summer Games, Black Press reporters across the province participated in a journalism competition for the best story about the BC Summer Games.  The winning story came from Victoria based Sports Reporter, Travis Paterson who wrote about two local volleyball players.  “Friends become teammates for Summer Games” showcased how the BC Games bring together the best athletes to compete for the right to represent their zone at the BC Games and how they are supported by dedicated community coaches.

As the winner of the BC Summer Games journalism competition, Travis was presented with a new iPad by Black Press’ Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Candy Hodson and BC Games Society President and CEO, Kelly Mann.

Congratulations from the BC Games Society!
