Operating in the Fort St. John area since 1978, Petron Communications is a key supporter of athleticism and arts in the community.

Petron Communications designs, installs, and services communications systems for BC’s remote and in-town worksites to ensure your worksite runs smoothly. Their specialization includes mobile, cellular, microwave, S.C.A.D.A., UHF, VHF, stand-alone voice, and data communication systems.

When Petron Communications was approached about supporting the BC Winter Games, the company not only volunteered to provide the games with communications systems and resources, but also rallied to involve other businesses who can help. “It’s a unique community. Everyone here has a desire for excellence, everyone wants to help,” says Justin McKinnon, Operations Manager.

Some of the items Petron Communications is providing for the BC Games includes enhanced wifi coverage at venues, cell phone services, portable communications towers (for remote events like cross-country skiing), and radio repeaters. The company is also providing staff resources to work with security and event management teams to makes sure the games run smoothly.

“We are doing everything we can to make the BC Winter Games great and to showcase the amazing community we are part of,” says Justin McKinnon, Operations Manager.
