There are two words synonymous with the success of the BC Games Society and those two words are Glenda Rae. Nobody has seen the growth of the organization more and nobody can deny Glenda has had a hand in the growth of each and every one of us.
Glenda retires after 40 years of dedication to the society. She has outlasted Presidents and CEOs, Event Managers and Administrative Staff.
We feel privileged that you have been part of our work family. You have watched us (and our children) grow in both our personal and professional lives.
We thank you for the hundreds of little things you did every day to make sure we felt cared for, supported and appreciated. They may not know it, but thousands of volunteers and participants created memorable experiences because of the culture you created in the office, wherever it happened to be.
It is with our deep and genuine appreciation that we say thank you, Glenda, for creating an environment of belonging, a benchmark for excellence and a model of respect.
Replacing the heart and soul of the organization will be a difficult thing to do. As we move forward in the next chapter of our journey without you, please know that you have left an indelible mark on this society that will never be lost.
We are proud to have called you a colleague and a friend. Good luck and may our paths cross again often.
