The Kamloops Sports Council handed out their 2019 sport awards this month and Niki Remesz, president of the 2018 BC Winter Games, won the Sport Person of the Year. Niki worked tirelessly with her board to create an atmosphere of trust and transparency. Former CEO of the BC Games Society, Kelly Mann, declared the 2018 Winter Games the “best ever”. Over 1600 volunteers worked to ensure the participants had exceptional competition experiences in Kamloops.

“I am immensely proud of the volunteer team that has invested hundreds of hours to ensure that every athlete, coach, official and parent has an unforgettable experience in Kamloops,” she said at the time. “The pinnacle of these Games’ can be credited to 40 years of BC Games success provincially and a labour of love, locally, from our team’s passion and expertise in leading.”

Niki continues to lend her expertise as she now sits on the board of the Kamloops Blazers hockey team. Congratulations, Niki!
