To get the 1,500+ registered volunteers geared up for the Cowichan 2018 BC Summer Games; a Volunteer Accreditation Day is being held on Saturday, June 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Duncan Elementary School. Anyone interested in volunteering for the Games, but has not yet registered, is also invited to attend to learn about the various volunteering opportunities.
The purpose of the event for registered volunteers is to:
- Pick up their accreditation badge and volunteer t-shirt
- Schedule their shifts for the Games’ weekend
- Meet members of their team and other volunteers they will be working with
- Have any questions answered
Anyone curious about volunteering can also stop by the event to check out the various opportunities available, learn what the average day will look like and talk to program chairs. They can also register at the event, getting their accreditation badge and t-shirt on the spot.
To keep everyone fed and happy, the Duncan Rotary Club is cooking a pancakes and sausage breakfast – free for all attendees.
The Cowichan 2018 BC Summer Games will take place at 27 venues throughout the Cowichan region from July 19-22. Over 3,500 athletes, coaches and officials will take part in these Games, with the average competitor being 14-years-old.
