It was an exciting day for Ringette at the Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games. Vancouver-Coastal beats Thompson-Okanagan and advances to the final against Fraser-River

Vancouver-Coastal was able to edge out Thompson-Okanagan in the semi-final of Ringette by a score of 10 to 3. Madison Young (#88), who is one of the players from the Zone 5 ringette team, scored the opening goal of the game for her team, and helped lead her team to the victory. Madison was very happy this afternoon, as her team took the win and advanced into the ringette finals at the Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games.

Madison's mother was impressed by her perforce. “Her line really wanted her to score,” says her proud mom, Kevina. This athlete parent has really been enjoying the Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games, and she has also enjoyed her stay here in Kamloops. “Everything is really organized here! I’m really impressed with the event!” shared Kevina. She is excited to have another opportunity to watch her daughter play, as Vancouver moves onto the gold medal round on Sunday, February 25.

Sunday’s gold medal game will feature the hardworking girls from Zone 5, Vancouver-Coastal, and the focused team of ladies from Fraser-River, Zone 4. The Sunday game will not be the last in the season for these BC natives - the majority of these ringette athletes will be playing at the ‘A’ Provincials in Kelowna in March, but they will be facing off with their home-teams.
