Thompson Rivers University Sponsor Bio TRU is a Signature Sponsor for 2018 BC Winter Games where staff and alumni will volunteer in a range of capacities, from event promotion to sitting on the Board of Directors for the 2018 BC Winter Games Society. The university will host a number of events including badminton; gymnastics; rhythmic gymnastics, and diving.  

The university is home to WolfPack athletics, and is committed to becoming one of the top university athletics programs in Canada. Curtis Atkinson, Director of Athletics and Recreation, recognizes that young, competing athletes are making goals for both sports and post-secondary education. He believes that competitions like the BC Games are so valuable and can provide many important life lessons. TRU wants to support the BC Winter Games athletes to participate in a healthy lifestyle and to learn the discipline and habits that will allow them to be successful in future ventures. 

The university recently added an Athletic Performance Advisor - a unique position in Canadian university sport - who provides sport psychology services and helps to prepare our student-athletes and coaches for optimal performance.  

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) offers 140 programs at its Kamloops campus and 52 programs online, ranging from apprenticeships and certificates to Bachelor, Law and Master’s degrees. TRU offers easy access to world-class skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and water sports. WolfPack athletes train at the state-of-the-art Tournament Capital Centre and Hillside Stadium.
