What's your favourite thing about Christmas?

At the BC Games Society, giving to those less fortunate than ourselves is one our favourite things.

This Christmas our wish is that everyone can share in the joy that comes from thinking of others. We know, however, that money is often tight, so we have created a $10-or-Less List with items that can make a difference to those in need.

• Socks
• Towels
• Underwear
• Bus Tickets
• Hygiene products (shampoo, razors, toothbrushes, deodorants, feminine hygiene, etc)
• Hats
• Warm Gloves/Mittens (*Waterproof if possible)
• Pajamas
• Nonperishable foods. Items such as: pasta, sauces, coffee, sugar, creamer, canned foods, cereals, crackers, etc.
• Mugs
• Umbrella
• Ponchos
• Empty plastic containers with lids
• Yarn and knitting needles
• Grocery and meal cards (e.g. Tim Horton’s)
• Individually-wrapped candy bars
• Slippers
• Water Bottles
• Art Supplies (shelter volunteers often offer art as art can be such an important component to positive change)

BC Games Society staff purchased 90 items that were donated to those who seek support through the Cool Aid Society in Victoria, BC. For an inside look at our Christmas donation project, watch our Christmas video here.

Please consider giving this Christmas, and everyday throughout the year, because just a little thought for others can make a BIG difference.
