The planning for the Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games is well underway and the community reached an important milestone in planning for sport competitions.

On May 27, the key representatives from each of the Provincial Sport Organizations in the BC Winter Games travelled to Kamloops to meet with the local Sport Chairs who will lead the planning at each sport venue.

It was an important day to learn about the planning for a multi-sport Games and to look at the requirements for each specific sport venue.

Nicole Beauregard, Director of Sport for the 2018 Kamloops BC Winter Games, was thrilled with the efforts from both the local volunteers and those from across the province. "The Host Community Sport Meeting sets the entire planning processes for the 2018 BC Winter Games coming Feb 22-25 to Kamloops.  It is so amazing to see such dedication and commitment from our local volunteers in our sports community and the provincial expertise working along side," said Beauregard. "This planning event was truly a partnership effort between the BC Games Society, provincial and local sport organizations, and the Host Community.  These Games will be athlete centered and I know that is the shared vision of my fellow Directors; the athletes will be in great hands.  When we all work together we are stronger together."
