Victoria's Nolan Thoroughgood leads the 2016 BC Summer Games boys golf competition heading into the second day of competition Saturday.

Thoroughgood shot a blistering one-under round of 69 Friday to take a two-stroke lead over Mission's Kyle Claggett, who shot 71 on the course, which frequently hosts high-level competition for the Lower Mainland's best golfers.

Zach Ryujin of North Vancouver and Joel Veenstra of Smithers are tied for third at four-over.

On the girls side of the ledger, Akari Hayashi of Victoria leads at eight-over. She's followed by Coquitlam's Grace Killins and Parksville's Kayli Melissa three shots back at 11-over.
