The Canadian team size is 477 (280 women, 197 men) and within that contingent there are 59 BC Games and Team BC alumni.  This includes 36 athletes who have competed at a BC Summer or BC Winter Games and 35 athletes who have competed for Team BC at the Canada Games or Western Canada Summer Games (14 athletes have competed at both).

Alumni are competing 18 sports including archery, athletics, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, cycling, fencing, field hockey, gymnastics, rugby, sailing, softball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, triathlon, volleyball and water polo.

Many Olympians and Commonwealth Games athletes are leading the Canadian contingent such as Evan Dunfee (Richmond) in athletics along with Desirae Ridenour (Cowichan Bay) in triathlon and Nathan Hirayama (Richmond) in Rugby 7s.

Ridenour and Hannah Henry (Victoria), medalists for Team BC from the recent 2017 Canada Summer Games and 2014 BC Summer Games alumni, have made history at the Pan American Games winning a silver medal in mixed team relay in triathlon.
