BC Seniors Games board member inducted into hall of fame

On May 23rd surrounded by longtime friends and team mates, BC Seniors Games Society board member, Darlene Currie was inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame.  Darlene, who is currently the Rules Chair, was honoured for her six-decade long basketball career as both a player and a coach.  She attended three Pan Am Games as an athlete, winning Bronze in 1967.  She went on to coach for Canada’s National Women's Basketball team, one of the first women ever to coach any national team.  She helped to build Vancouver’s seniors women's basketball league and is still competing at an international level in basketball.

Darlene also enjoys playing slo-pitch and pickleball.

We congratulate this humble and passionate sportswoman who received this recognition for her incredible contribution to sport in BC and beyond.  Click here for more about Darlene and the BC Sports Hall of Fame.
