British Columbia Golf is the governing body of amateur golf in British Columbia, representing more than 56,000 members at over 300 clubs across the province and is responsible for promoting participation in and a passion for the game of golf in BC.  British Columbia Golf actively conducts championships, programs, and services to help shape the present and future of golf in British Columbia.
 
Golf made its return to the BC Summer Games in 2004 and since that time British Columbia Golf has worked hard to utilize the Games for the development of the sport.  Athlete participation was maximized by filling 61 out of a possible 64 athlete positions in 2010 - less than half of the sports in the BC Summer Games can boast such a record.  The organization clearly identified the Games as important to the development of athletes, coaches, and officials through organizational planning, allocation of staff time and budgets, and a robust volunteer system to support the involvement in the Games.   Considerable effort is made to ensure that the coaches are ready and that their athletes are committed to the Games.

This investment in the BC Summer Games is paying off in incredible ways given the successes BC Games golf alumni have had at Western Canada Summer Games, Canada Summer Games, and other collegiate, national, and international competition.
 
British Columbia Golf was presented the Wendy Ladner-Beaudry Sport Achievement Award in March 2012.
