In March of 2017, the BC Games Society awarded the 2022 BC Summer Games to the City of Prince George. The bi-annual Games are an important step in the development of high-performance athletes with some continuing to national and international competition. The four-day celebration promises to bring over 3,500 athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators to Prince George from around the Province.

“The community has a rich history of hosting multi-sport events,” says Alison Noble, President and CEO of the BC Games Society. “From incredible sport facilities, to experienced volunteers and immense community support, I’m confident that Prince George will host a very successful Games.”

Last fall, Council directed Administration to establish the 2022 BC Summer Games Nomination Select Committee to report to Council on their appointment of individuals to the Board of Directors. During the Monday, May 10 meeting of Council, a report is being provided to Council from the Committee Chair, Mayor Lyn Hall, notifying Council of the Committee’s selections.
