The 2020 BC Winter Games have officially wrapped up and the local community is excited about the new sports they were able to watch and experience over the last week. Continue and feed your kids’ curiosity and excitement by coming out to the Try-It Games.
The Try-It Games are an initiative that grew from the Legacy of the Games community development committee. This event allows the youth of Fort ST. John to try out and potentially join new sports in safe environments with proper guidance and coaching following the conclusion of the 2020 BC Winter Games.
“These games will allow youth to try a sport they may have seen or become interested in as a result of the 2020 Winter Games being held in Fort St. John,” says Cheryl Montgomery, Community Development Chair for the 2020 BC Winter Games.
Below is the schedule for the Try-It games:
- March 13 - DIVING 7:30-8:30 pm @ the North Peace Leisure Pool (Hosted by North Peace Leisure Pool)
- March 15 - ARCHERY 2-4 pm @ Stonebridge Hotel Alexander Ballroom (hosted by New Totem Archery Club)
- March 15 - GYMNASTICS @ North Peace Gymnastics Association - registration required! visit npga.ca (space limited) (Hosted by North Peace Gymnastics Association)
- Ages 5-7 12:45 - 1:45 pm
- Ages 3-5 1:00 - 2:00 pm
- Walking to 36 months - 2:15-3:00 pm
- Ages 8-10 2:00-3:00 pm
- March 15 - RINGETTE 9-10:30 am @ Margaret Ma Murray School (Hosted by Engage Sport North)
- March 15 - BIATHLON 11 am - 12:30 pm @ Margaret Ma Murray School (Hosted by Engage Sport North)
