Box Lacrosse
A heart breaking defeat for the Cariboo North box lacrosse team as they went down to defeat at the hands of Fraser Valley 9-7. Travis Mccue, father of athlete Griffin Mccue, shared about the great experience that his son has had playing for the Cariboo North team, "He's gotten great coaching from a national level coach and for Griffin and the other two boys from Fort St. John on the team, it has been a once in a lifetime experience. It will no doubt raise the level of play back in our community."
Dressage
The Prince George Para Dressage team coolled off in the shade after their morning competition. From the left, Chase riding Piper, Nathan astride of Tramp, and Marinka mounted on Fancy.
Field Lacrosse
At Exhibition Park, the Fraser Valley field lacrosse team warms up for its second game - playing Thompson Okanagan. Fraser Valley cruised to victory over the Vancouver Coastal team in their first game. Field lacrosse is a conditioning sport with a large field, less body contact than box lacrosse, but still the intense bursts of speed that make the play exciting.
Beach Volleyball
At Carrie Jane Grey Park, the Zone 6 Beach Volleyball team shares their appreication for the great facilities that Prince George has. Falk Bahlmann, from Nanaimo and Carter Munro, from Victoria with their Coach, Stephen Epp.
Baseball
The Fraser Valley baseball team stays cool as they wait for their second game. They lost their first game 3-1 and Coach Brad Robinson thinks the boys were a bit nervous heading in. The players are from Chilliwack, Abbotsford and Maple Ridge and many play together on teams in the area, but this is the first game they have played together as a Zone team. For the coach and most of the team members this is their first trip to Prince George. They are loving the hospitality and the weather!
The game final handshake as the Zone 1 Kootenay team defeats the host, Cariboo North team. Coach Stephen Mailey from the Zone 1 team, says that his team are from the Trail /Cranbrook areas and are pleased to have started off strong.
